Kit - Louise (pattern and floss), by Little House Needleworks
I created this kit especially for my wool-obsessed knitting friends who have been telling me they wanted to learn how to or get back into cross stitch.
From Little House Needlework’s “Creatures Great and Small” selections, Louise is a darling little sheep in the meadow full of flowers. Perfect for anyone newer to cross stitch, or someone who just wants a relaxing, smaller project. If you know your sheep breeds, I would say she’s a Suffolk. :)
Stitch count is 78 x 78. If you use the below recommended beginner fabric (25 count Lugana), your final design size will be 6.25” x 6.25”.
Kit includes:
Pattern
DMC (4), Classic Colorworks (3), and Week’s Dyeworks (1)
Don’t forget to check out the shop for any additional notions like a hoop, needles, or needleminders. I recommend using a size 24 or 26 needle with this fabric.
I would recommend a size 24 or 26 needle. Piecemakers are my favorite, so I always recommend starting with them. But preferences vary!
All 3 available colors of Vintage Cloth (see dropdown in listing below) would work with this pattern/floss, with the Heritage color making the sheep “pop” out the most. Stitch with two strands of floss over 2 threads. Final size would be 6.25 x 6.25” I would use a size 24 or 26 needle.
