LFA Linens/Aida - Nor'easter
LFA Linens/Aida - Nor'easter
Warm light gray base with subtle mottling of a deeper cooler grey scattered randomly throughout. Perfect for pictoral stitching, winter scenes, or even day time scenes as a the fabric sometimes casts a light blue with different floss colors.
For your reference, Nor’easter is a warmer grey than our other grey, New England Grey.
Beautifully hand-dyed cross-stitch fabric by Sue of LFA Linens/Legacy Fiber Arts.
Use the “Cross Stitch Calculator” button in this listing to calculate if your project will fit the linen/Aida sizes offered. Thank you Yarn Tree for this wonderful calculator!
If you are doing Mary Morgans on 16 count Aida, you will need the full yard cut.
Linen and Aida Sizing Information:
Because the dyeing process involves heat and water, fabric shinking does occur. The following cuts are the industry standard sizing prior to dyeing. I find most hand-dyed linens shrink about an inch or two either way. The Aida does not tend to shrink much at all. Linen and Aida have different Fat Half and Fat Quarter sizes due to their different bolt sizes.
Linen Sizes:
Yard = 36” x 55”
FH = Fat Half = 36” x 27x5”
FQ = Fat Quarter = 27.5” x 18”
Aida Sizes:
FH = Fat Half = 20” x 36”
FQ = Fat Quarter = 18” x 20”
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
Sue’s beautiful fabric is hand-dyed in individual batches with lots of care and creativity, which makes it impossible to have two pieces look exactly alike. But you already probably know that, and that is why you are looking to purchased hand-dyed fabric in the first place!
I do my best to photograph the yarn in natural light to best show off the colors, but all screens display color differently. If you ever want to video chat “live” to see the fabrics even better, contact me at rachel@treehousefiberarts.com to set up a Facetime or zoom conference call.
